When hoards of college students and paid agitators scream, “From the river to the sea,” they’re not talking about ‘from the Hudson to the Pacific.” Instead, they are referring to a little patch of land that sits between the Biblical Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, a piece of land so small that it could fit within the shores of Lake Michigan with plenty of room to spare. The battalions of ‘Hamas Youth,’ who have taken over college campuses throughout America, are calling for the destruction of the tiny Jewish state of Israel. The Jewish state. The only one in the world. And they are calling for “genocide” – the destruction of the entire Jewish population who live there. That is Hamas’ mission, which American college students have now fostered with enthusiasm. When did they become so full of hate, so bloodthirsty?

To be honest, they don’t all want to destroy Israel. They don’t all want to destroy all the Jews. The best guess is that most of them (estimates range from 50% to 80%) don’t know much about Israel or even what they are demonstrating about. Maybe many of them are just caught up in the excitement. But the people who are taking the brunt of this, intended or otherwise, the real victims of this madness, are the Jewish students and teachers, many of whom have been driven from their classes, their offices, their dorms, and too many of whom have fled their colleges altogether – in fear. It’s all about the Jews.

This is the core of modern-day anti-Semitism, the hatred of Jews and anything Jewish, including and especially Israel. It is the very opposite of DEI because DEI is supposed to embrace diversity. Here in America, Jews represent about 2.4% of the population. Any other group with these numbers would be considered a tiny and unimportant minority. But somehow, the Jews, despite their minuscule population in the United States and in the world, are seen somehow to be powerful and undeserving of special minority status. Muslims, on the other hand, comprise only 1.1% of the American population. And yet, their voices have taken over the streets in cities throughout the country. And they hold the Jews responsible for their problems.

The hatred against Jews has been growing dramatically over recent decades. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) found that in 2023 in the US, there were 8,873 recorded incidents of antisemitic assault, harassment, and vandalism. This number was the highest level since ADL started tracking in 1979 and a 140% increase from 3,697 recorded in 2022. But 2024 has set many terrible new records. Between October 7 and the end of 2023, ADL reported 5,204 anti-Semitic incidents – more than the incident total for the entire year in 2022.

This is not about race (although there are many people who think the Jews are a racial group, which they are not). Proponents of DEI think that Jews are ‘privileged whites,’ even though there are many Jews of color, as well as impoverished Jews who have no privilege at all. And Islamist leaders feel free to call all Jews “the descendants of apes and pigs.”

The current phenomenon of pro-Hamas, anti-Israel demonstrations on college campuses around the country began with the hatred of Jews, an old, disgusting phenomenon practiced by Christians for thousands of years and by Muslims for hundreds. Although anti-Semitism has always been a problem in America, today, it shows itself in its most blatant and undisguised form as an open call for the death of Jews and the destruction of Israel. In America, the land of the free, Jews are now increasingly afraid to go to school, to work, or just go about their business.

So, where do we go from here?

The demonstrations began on October 8, less than 24 hours after the Hamas massacre of Israeli Jews. Professionally printed signs had already been prepared and were distributed to the pro-Hamas crowds. Although it came as a surprise – no, a shock – to many, those Americans who study history and saw the signs were not surprised at all. They knew that the Islamist infrastructure had been building for years and that the leaders had been training their activists to be ready. Maybe the leaders had even been warned that a new, major Hamas offensive was about to take place. Maybe. But whether or not they had prior warning, they were ready. The signs were rapidly distributed, the agitators were in position, and the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel/anti-Semitic riots began in earnest on October 8.

Make no mistake about it. Although the anti-America activists were out in force, and their message was clear, at the core of these demonstrations was a despicable anti-Semitic movement sponsored by Islamist organizations like CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the hundreds of student organizations founded and educated by them to support Hamas’ message.

Also supporting the demonstrations that continue to grow in size and violence are George Soros’ Open Society Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, as well as student groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, American Muslims for Palestine, and CAIR (Council of America-Islamic Relations) which was founded in 1994 after a secret Muslim Brotherhood planning meeting the year before, that was attended by senior Brotherhood leaders, including Nihad Awad, now CAIR’s CEO.

Reiterating what we all know by now, Jonathan Schanzer told NewsNation: “These [demonstrations] are not spontaneous. They are not necessarily organic. They are cultivated by groups that have an axe to grind . . . . Individuals who previously worked for Hamas charities are now a driving force behind the large pro-Hamas demonstrations taking place in major cities across America.”

The proliferation of the pro-Hamas, anti-Semitic demonstrations is indeed well organized. Although the demonstrators are carrying many signs and flags that urge “death to America,” at its core, this is all about the Jews and the rampant, fiery hatred that has no bearing, in fact, but has been burning for thousands of years and carried on against a people who are small in number, but who have historically made enormous contributions to humanity throughout the centuries, for which they have paid an enormous price. And as the demonstrations turn into riots, attacks on Jewish students and faculty are escalating.

America is better than this. Or should be. And this blind hatred needs to stop. But, sadly, it won’t. Because this is all about the damn Jews, and it will likely go on forever.

FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA…PALESTINE WILL NEVER BE.

FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA…ISRAEL WILL ALWAYS BE

There are times will hard learned lessons must be relearned at great cost:

“The preservation of the Jews is really one of the most single and illustrious acts of divine Providence… and what but a supernatural power could have preserved them in such a manner as none other nation upon earth hath been preserved. Nor is the providence of God less remarkable in the destruction of their enemies, than in their preservation… We see that the great empires, which in their turn subdued and oppressed the people of God, are all come to ruin… And if such hath been the fatal end of the enemies and oppressors of the Jews, let it serve as a warning to all those, who at any time or upon any occasion are for raising a clamor and persecution against them.”                                                           Thomas Newton, Bishop of Bristol (1704-1782)
