Famers who sign contracts to allow the installation of industrial wind turbines on their properties must agree never to tell anyone if they experience detrimental health impacts due to turbine operation. For this, they are paid tens of thousands of dollars per turbine annually. Consequently, we never hear from these people about what living with 60-story high turbines on their properties is really like. However, the fact that the companies installing the turbines insist that landowners sign such a “gag order” raises a huge red flag and begs the question: what are they trying to hide?
Fortunately, some of their neighbors who rejected the turbine companies’ seductive offers are not afraid to speak out. This week, Tom interviews Ruby Mekker, another person who suffers from the ill effects brought on by her home being situated in the middle of a cluster of massive turbines. A friend who lives in the home highlighted in the below photograph in the north end of the project (Chrysler, Ontario, the downtown area of which appears below) suffers severe “wind turbine syndrome” due to the turbines surrounding his home.
Ruby is a mother, grandmother, retired dairy farmer, retired Special Education teacher, and an advocate for the health of people living near industrial wind turbines. She worked with the group Concerned Citizens of North Stormont, where she and her colleagues organized, fund-raised, and endured an Environmental Review Tribunal to the cost of over $100,000. She continues to speak up against introducing industrial wind turbines and the negative health consequences for people living near the turbines.
Join Tom and Ruby this week to hear what farmers who agreed to the gag order cannot tell you!

The science is unquestionable, the courts have ruled, and the testimonies are clear: industrial wind factories harm human and animal health.
