On May 1st, I watched the hearing with EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak before the Congressional Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. It is an amazing bipartisan effort to pursue the truth about COVID-19’s origin and protect Americans! I strongly recommend everyone who cares about the investigation of COVID-19 to listen to the hearing.

However, Dr. Daszak’s performance and his tactics include both blatantly lying and deliberately misleading before Congress. I will analyze the key points and his tricks in this article. You can listen to my podcast on this subject on The Voice of Dr. Yan.

1. Misinterpreting scientific terms.

>>> Daszak told Rep. James Comer that “assays” refer to non-infectious experiments that don’t need to be performed in the BSL-3 labs.

A: Wrong! It’s common sense for virologists that assays can be applied with both infectious and non-infectious viruses, e.g., plaque assay, neutralization assay, and ELISA assay. As a virologist, I have performed many assays using infectious viruses, including SARS2, in the BSL-3 lab in the WHO Reference Lab at the University of Hong Kong.

>>> Daszak told Counsel that making a virus “infects human cells” doesn’t mean “infect humans,” so he claims it’s not Gain-of-Function.

A: Wrong! Here, Daszak deliberately avoids the fact that making viruses gain the function of infecting human cells is the initial step to further developing more harmful engineered virus mutations against humans.

2. Confusing people in a professional way.

When Rep. Jill Tokuda and other legislators and counsel ask Daszak whether Eco Health Alliance could physically access and check bat samples and viral sequence data in Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), Daszak repeatedly “points out” that “samples are not sequence data,” trying to humiliate them in a professional way.

A: Daszak deliberately confuses people to distract attention from the real points in those questions. Actually, as Daszak admits in the hearing, he can’t get access to the 15,000 samples in China, and his “full access” to the sequence data can only be accessed via emails from CCP’s scientists!

This means the outcomes of the EcoHealth-granted projects in WIV, which are paid by American taxpayers’ dollars, CANNOT be supervised transparently or scientifically.

Moreover, among those samples, “Bat Woman” Zhengli Shi claims to find the “fundamental evidence of nature-origin theory” bat coronavirus RaTG13, which is “96% similar to SARS2”. Still, no one can independently confirm the “novel findings” in WIV.

Therefore, CCP’s scientists can easily make up sequences data (e.g., RaTG13 virus, pangolin SARS2-like CoVs) to cheat Americans, while Daszak is a good tool for CCP to deliver false data and misinformation in unrestricted warfare.

Imagine in a criminal trial, if the forensic examination is conducted by the suspects who hold all the materials and information from the crime scene, will the evidence and testimony be recognized as valid?

To note, in the second Yan Report, my team articulates the smoking gun evidence that the RaTG13 virus doesn’t exist in nature and is indeed a fabricated viral sequence to fulfill the false nature-origin theory.

3. Daszak fully defends CCP in COVID-19 origin.

Rep. Debby Lesko asks whether Daszak knows CCP’s bioweapon program or WIV’s role in military-civil fusion strategy. Daszak said he has “no knowledge” of PLA’s involvement and CCP’s bioweapon program.

A: At the beginning of the hearing, Daszak tells Rep. Brad Wenstrup that viruses can be used as bioweapons. However, “without knowledge of CCP-PLA,” Daszak insists that the COVID-19 virus comes from nature, which has “zero evidence” of lab origin.

Daszak also insists that he repeatedly visited China and communicated with CCP’s scientists for 20 years; therefore, he endorses the Chinese government and CCP’s scientists based on his “good knowledge” of them.

Additionally, Rep. Lesko emphasizes that Daszak’s words are “totally different” from what she obtains from her reliable sources.

4. Daszak’s double standards of “political” impacts on COVID-19 origin.

When Rep. Tokuda said it’s quite concerning that Daszak can’t physically check bat samples and viral sequences in WIV, Daszak said it’s “geopolitical reasons” that he can’t do it in China. While Rep. Rich McCormick questions why Daszak and Dr. Fauci communicated via Gmail instead of working email, Daszak argues that it is because of “security and political reasons.”

A: Everyone should remember how strongly Daszak separates COVID-19 origin issues from “politics” in his speeches, articles, and interviews… He condemns political factors (especially “anti-Chinese” and “anti-science”) when people present evidence of CCP-lab origin.

However, when it comes to the basic facts about his responsibility of supervising WIV during collaboration, he can’t do his job for geopolitical reasons! He and Dr. Fauci even can’t use working email to discuss the “non-political” COVID-19 issues!

So are the “political factors” a Schrödinger’s cat in Daszak’s mind?
