The Dean’s List
Weekdays 2 pm ET
On October 4, 1790, Samuel Adams sat down to write a letter to his cousin, John Adams, who was vice president of the United States. Samuel Adams stated: “Let patriots unite their endeavors to renovate the age, by . . . educating their sons and daughters in the fear of the Lord . . . love of their country and . . . the art of self-government.”
The word renovate means “To renew; to restore to the first state, or a good state, after decay, destruction or depravation.” It may seem surprising to us that Adams expressed the need to renovate the age, being as it was, such an early time in our nation’s existence. Is it possible he felt the teachings of the Fear of the Lord, Love of Country, and the Art of Self-Government were entering a state of decay?
Ronald Reagan stated, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Could it be that EVERY generation needs to Renovate the Age? The Dean’s List is a show resolved to Renovate the Age by shining the light of truth on the decaying American education system while also shining the light of hope for parents and grandparents who will endeavor to reclaim ownership of their children’s and grandchildren’s education.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Coach John Parks, a seasoned track and field coach, faces backlash from the Lake Oswego School District for speaking out on transgender athletes. Fired after 40 years, Parks champions First Amendment rights as the Liberty Justice Center steps in, challenging the district’s actions in court and seeking to reinstate him amid a heated constitutional battle over free speech.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Leadership failures in education are undermining trust in both K12 and higher institutions. Issues like Harvard’s lack of discipline for antisemitic conduct and the controversy surrounding male athletes in women’s sports demonstrate how safety and fairness are being compromised. Without decisive action, education continues to lose credibility where it matters most—protecting students and ensuring equal opportunities.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – In “The Cost of Empire,” I expose the mainstream attack on Classical Christian Education, using Highlands Latin School as a focal point. This movement challenges secular ideologies, aiming to restore Judeo-Christian values and Western Civilization. As California’s SAFETY Act threatens parental rights, parents increasingly seek alternatives in Classical Christian schools nationwide.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Classical Christian schools emphasize Latin, often questioned as a “dead language.” Mandi Fischer, Latin Director at Waterbrook Christian Academy, explains Latin’s role in developing problem-solving skills and intellectual growth. Cheryl Lowe adds that Latin sharpens learning abilities across subjects. Discover why Latin remains essential in fostering wonder and academic excellence in students today.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Two cousins, Samuel and John Adams, navigate the early days of America, believing in the need for cultural restoration. They stress the importance of education at home, focusing on faith, patriotism, and self-governance. Their ideas resonate today, reminding us of the value of teaching youth to love God, their country, and their neighbors.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – The American Academy of Pediatrics recently removed a group of detransitioners from their conference, sparking controversy. These individuals were advocating for mental health treatments over gender-affirming care, but were quickly silenced. Meanwhile, attorneys general warn the AAP that promoting puberty blockers as “safe and reversible” may violate state consumer protection laws. America is watching closely.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Students today often misunderstand the true purpose of the Bill of Rights. Influential figures like John Kerry criticize the First Amendment, calling it a barrier to their agenda. This reinforces the urgent need for parents to teach children about the Constitution, so they can grasp its significance as a safeguard against globalist efforts to undermine American freedoms.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Homeschooling enrollment continues to rise long after the pandemic, defying expectations that students would return to public schools. New research from the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy shows significant growth in most states for the 2023–2024 school year. Parents increasingly choose homeschooling, driven by factors beyond the pandemic, with some states seeing record numbers.

Nichols shares insights on the courage to start a business, the creativity required, and his philosophy of creation rooted in faith. The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – The Department of Education, established during Jimmy Carter’s presidency, has been failing students for decades. Calls to abolish it grow louder, with President Trump promising its removal if reelected. Public schools continue to underperform, especially in cities like Detroit, where students lag in proficiency despite teachers being rated highly. It’s time for a complete overhaul.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Yard signs tell an interesting story this election season, and it’s not looking good for Democrats. In my area, Trump signs outnumber Harris signs by 30 to 1, and similar trends appear across the country. Add to that the party’s unclear stance on common sense issues like transgender athletes in women’s sports, and it’s clear why Democrats may be in trouble this November.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Marxist ideology is quietly infiltrating teacher training programs in major universities across the country. Future educators are being trained to push activist agendas, shaping the minds of K12 students. With colleges embedding concepts like white supremacy and privilege into their curriculums, parents need to be aware of the far-reaching impact on the education system.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Two Super Bowl champions, Tony Dungy and Harrison Butker, speak out on the cultural battle over faith and abortion in America. Dungy challenges Vice President Kamala Harris on her stance, questioning the kind of faith she supports. Meanwhile, Butker calls for traditional family values, gaining widespread support from NFL fans. The silent majority continues to make its voice heard.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Thirteen federal judges take a stand against Columbia University, criticizing its handling of campus protests and anti-semitism. In a letter to the university president, they declare their loss of confidence in the institution and refuse to hire future students. A complaint against the judges is dismissed, reinforcing that common sense prevails when the legal system operates with integrity, benefiting all citizens.
