Before this interview, I asked Michael Yon for his brief bio. He replied: “Michael Yon, author, analyst.”
“Too simple! Is there a little longer bio?”
“Michael Yon, War Correspondent, author, analyst, alligator hunter.”
I can’t stop laughing. In fact, Michael Yon has multiple well-known identities, including one of the youngest green berets and an award-winning independent war correspondent.
As a Hong Kong citizen, first of all, I salute Michael Yon’s seven-month unfiltered recon in the frontlines during Hong Kong pro-democracy protests from mid-2019 to Feb 2020 until the day CCP prevented him from the city. His hundreds of hours of live streaming delivered precise messages and images of Hong Kongers’ bold fighting and CCP’s bloody destruction of freedom to the world. (https://time.com/5778231/michael-yon-denied-entry-hong-kong/)
I was also in Hong Kong at that time. The protests starting in the summer of 2019, became the watershed in my life. After a 7-year continuous working visa granted by the University of Hong Kong, I finally obtained a Hong Kong passport while giving up my mainland China citizenship. However, my excitement and dream of the future were smashed heavily by reality. Xi-CCP regime can’t wait to eat up the freedom in that city, although it has already gradually withered away since 1997.
I can’t forget those days and nights full of shock, frustration, anger, and sadness. On one hand, CCP’s troops blended into Hong Kong police and protesters to hurt, arrest, silence, disappear or kill the brave Hong Kongers. On the other hand, the CCP promoted propaganda and rumors using the national machine to smear and discredit dissidents all over the world.
However, the CCP dared not be so brutal against foreign journalists at that time. Therefore, those “Michael Yon” are the eyes and voices of helpless Hong Kongers, bringing us support, as well as helping us to communicate with the free world. Furthermore, what I have watched and learned during the protests inspired me to be a whistleblower soon after. What vital and irreplaceable value of the great combat correspondents!
In at least three of the four years, besides reporting from Hong Kong, Yon has been focusing on a huge amount of immigration issues. He reported from Armenia, Georgia, Morocco, Lithuania, Netherlands, Columbia, Panama, Mexico, and many many places.
If you follow his Twitter (X), you will see frequent updates on the ongoing border crisis, from the most dangerous jungles in Darien Gap to the areas along the southern borders, including the potential huge threats posed by countless Chinese military-age illegal aliens. As I explained, based on our sources, it is CCP ‘s new era “Trojan Horse” to destroy America (https://www.americaoutloud.news/ccp-using-political-correctness-as-a-new-era-trojan-horse-against-america/). While Yon with his team have captured CCP’s spy Lushan Zhao in Darien Gap. Lushan has failed at least twice to enter the US illegally, but he was still heading toward US via the third route (https://x.com/Michael_Yon/status/1650647983384403969?s=20).
More importantly, what local people told them has provided evidence that the CCP has sent special forces among the illegal immigrants to the US. On June 2 2023, he posted a video describing that a Chinese group drank shots of raw chicken blood after successfully trekking Darien Gap.
(https://x.com/Michael_Yon/status/1664615037053566976?s=20). It is very abnormal and suspicious because we Chinese don’t have the habit of drinking raw chicken blood. Later on, the answer is revealed in an interview promoted by CCP.

In the video above, Wu Chang-Jie from the 75th Special Operations Brigade of PLA’s 75th Army Group (also known as “Jungle Tiger,” which was founded by Xi Jinping in 2013. https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/中国人民解放军陆军特种作战第七十五旅) proudly talks about their tough training, especially the exclusive project of “drinking the raw chicken blood.”
- How many Chinese military special forces members have entered the US via the borders by now?
- How many will be sent to the US in the future?
- What are their missions in the US?
Yon’s work raised concerns, which served as an important warning to the public.
There is no doubt that Michael Yon’s work has triggered strong dissatisfaction with CCP’s side. From Sep 11, two days after the live streaming of this episode, CCP released a lot of propaganda to discredit Yon for the first time (e.g., https://baijiahao.baidu.com/s?id=1776706283210448799&wfr=spider&for=pc). The original article in English was published by China News Service, the second-largest state news agency in China. It tries to reject three recent photos indicating the economy in trouble in Shanghai on Yon’s Twitter (X) because the government needs to cover up the deep economic downturn in China (http://www.ecns.cn/cns-wire/2023-09-12/detail-ihcszkct5397949.shtml)
Given that the Chinese News Service is controlled by CCP’s United Front Work Department, it means attacking Michael Yon becomes an official political task for the CCP now. I congratulated him: “It’s a special award. President Xi is watching you. It’s just the beginning!”
“I love it!” Yon replied, “Mao’s Cannibals in action. CCP is not happy with me. Their weakness is showing!”
