Just as the re-opening of America was about to begin, the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota ripped open old wounds in the worst possible way. Rioting broke out across the country and, not surprisingly, it was not the locals making all the trouble. Funded by George Soros, outside agitators from gangs and groups like ANTIFA tore up the streets in major cities all over the country. What do you do with looters who come from somewhere else to destroy your city, your neighborhood, your livelihood?
Across the nation voters in blue states are confronting a host of restrictions on their civil rights and civil liberties ostensibly related to the Coronavirus pandemic. Opportunism abounds. Although Nashville, Tennessee is in a red state, the mayor has used the coronavirus as an excuse to dramatically raise taxes at a time people are suffering because of government actions. In this episode I interview Carey Bringle, a native Nashvillian who owns Peg Leg Porker, a restaurant located in the Gulch. Carey shares his views about the proposed tax increase and how it will impact local businesses. Bringle is involved with two organizations fighting to empower voters: notax4nash and 4GoodGovernment. America is burning from the inside. The chaos we are seeing on the streets is a clear indicator of where we are as a nation. The frustration and confusion of the COVID-19 shut down is compounded by the horrific death of George Floyd in Minnesota. America’s anger is erupting in the streets, revealing the pain we are all suffering as we try to figure out who we are as a people and what kind of country we should have. Justice is more than a word, we must all be heard but we must be honest in our conversations. Protesting is a valid activity to address concerns, rioting and looting are not. Outside forces have joined the battle for another agenda altogether. Antifa has chosen this moment to throw gasoline on the fire.

The American day of remembrance of our fallen military personnel is a somber one but should be revered by every citizen. The sacrifice of our men and women in uniform is a reminder of the value of freedom and liberty and why we must never forget that it can be lost. The ongoing Pandemic lockdown and economic shutdown in the Red State / Blue State stalemate is clear evidence of how people can be hypnotized by leadership. Many Americans are paralyzed with fear over the idea of opening up the country while others are ready to go and get back to as much normal as possible. Is all of this a pre-cursor to something else? And finally, the politics of the lockdown and the attempted coup d’état against President Trump are easy to see, but why do so many of our fellow citizens either not see the facts or disregard them. This is a recipe for serious trouble.

The stories are being written like bombshells of new information to convince folks that cardiac deaths are overwhelming due to the use of hydroxychloroquine. The video of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old black man jogging in Glynn County in southeast Georgia, is a stark reminder in that racial hatred still exist in 2020. In the video, Ahmaud crosses in front of a truck with two white men holding guns and a struggle ensues. Three gunshots are fired, Arbery begins to run away and falls to the ground, he is dead. In a separate incident, TMZ released a video from a 2017 encounter with Ahmaud Arbery and the police in Glynn County. The video of Ahmaud getting frisked and patted down by cops in 2017 shines a light on the Glynn County PD’s attitude toward black people … keeping in mind Gregory McMichael, one of the shooters, was once a member of that force. As in most all criminal cases like this one, there is much more to the story here. So where are we in race relations in America? More than four-in-ten say the country hasn’t made enough progress toward racial equality, and there is some skepticism, particularly among blacks, that black people will ever have equal rights with whites.
