Other famous Anti-Federalists included Samuel Adams, Richard Henry Lee, Mercy Otis Warren, Arthur Fenner, and Thomas Jefferson, and the father of the Bill of Rights, James Madison. Many of these men came from poorer Western states and were terrified that a central government would destroy the liberty fought, bled, and died for in the battle of Independence… if only they could see America today.
