Videos and pictures of people sleeping on almost every street corner; along with highway overpasses, alleys, and across from multi-million dollar mansions. Some are in tents, others are in the open-air⏤entire pedestrian walks covered by both adults and children⏤in some cases a blanket if they’re lucky. Garbage, human waste and drugs permeate the air. Conditions are filthy; there is no water, no sanitation⏤disease and sickness, plague, typhus, flu, and measles now spreading throughout the land. We’re not talking Venezuela here⏤cities like San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco and being overrun with homelessness and crime. California Gov Newsome has made a promise of free medical care for illegals; the state already provides driver’s licenses without citizenship, and so much more free stuff. Tax the rich, is the repeated cry! Make them pay their fair share is the rallying call. The problem is the top 5% of California tax payers pay 90% of all taxes⏤Local, State and Federal. In April Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif told Chris Wallace that Israel, John Bolton, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates all wanted regime change in Iran. “They have all shown that they want to drag the U.S. into a conflict, I do not believe that Pres Trump wants to do that – I believe Pres Trump ran on a campaign promise to not bring the U.S. into another war – but I believe Pres Trump’s intention to put maximum pressure on Iran in order to bring Iran to it’s knees – so that we would succumb to pressure is doomed to failure – and these individuals know this,” says Zarif. President Trump joked that if United States foreign policy was decided by his national security advisor John Bolton, “We’d be in four wars by now.” The president reportedly made the remarks in private, this is according to The New York Times. Afghanistan is one of the world’s most heavily landmine contaminated countries, and the impact to the civilian population as well as our military soldiers is the leading cause of injuries and death. A report was issued from the United Nations in October 2018 calling on militants in Afghanistan to stop using improvised explosive devices, “The killing and maiming of Afghan civilians by improvised explosive devises, particularly suicide devices, has reached extreme levels in Afghanistan.” We are seeing the decline of IED use in other areas of the world, but not Afghanistan, where it continues to rise. It is the weapon of choice the Taliban and the local Islamic State affiliate use to rein terror on both the local population and military forces. The impact on military, police and even peacekeepers is incredibly disruptive. Americans military forces have trained personnel that understand these explosive devices, and how to detect the IEDs that are meticulously buried in the Afghanistan landscape. The FAA says it receives over 100 reports every month of drone encounters. The Department of Homeland Security says Unmanned Aircraft Systems UAS, aka DRONES, is fast becoming a safety and security threat to Americans. The threats may include: Weaponized or Smuggling Payloads – Depending on power and payload size, UAS may be capable of transporting contraband, chemical, or other explosive/weaponized payloads. Prohibited Surveillance and Reconnaissance – UAS are capable of silently monitoring a large area from the sky for nefarious purposes. Intellectual Property Theft – UAS can be used to perform cyber crimes involving the theft of trade secrets, technologies, or sensitive information. Intentional Disruption or Harassment – UAS may be used to disrupt or invade the privacy of other individuals. Does the technology to prevent these attacks exist? Is this the future weapon of choice by terrorists? Will these also be used by more common robbers and murderers? Don Cash made it to the top of Everest, completing his life’s dream, he conquered the Seven Summits⏤the tallest mountains on each continent⏤but died on Mount Everest shortly after reaching the peak. There is a phenomenon happening with Everest that has caught the attention of newsmakers and climbing enthusiasts. Peak climbing season for Everest is April and May. It’s a tight window before conditions deteriorate to an unsafe level. This year conditions have been very good prompting long crowds of people attempting to make history. This has also caused a record amount of deaths on Everest. Two Time Cancer Survivor, Sean Swarner redefined IMPOSSIBLE by becoming the only person in history to climb the highest mountain on every continent, trek to the South & North Poles, and complete the Hawaii Ironman – all with one lung. Sean was diagnosed with two deadly, different, and unrelated forms of cancer, once at the age of thirteen and again at the age of sixteen. Life in America is fast paced and hectic, we lead the world in almost everything for a good reason, we are driven to succeed. Lt Joe and his family went to the UK and Ireland and saw many stark differences in the way the people from America live and view the world in comparison to this part of Europe. Seeing the different ways we act and think was made clear when compared to the different culture of Europe and it made us all feel very good about America. Seeing the fake media and their influence over other countries was also clear when we spoke to people from the UK and Ireland and heard what they believe about America and Americans and our capitalist system. Homelessness has become a growing problem for communities across America. Whether the root cause of the problem is mental illness or financial hardship, elected officials are tasked with finding solutions that protect the welfare of the community. Law enforcement officials often become the first point of contact with the homeless. Communities differ in the amount of authority delegated to law enforcement personnel and the range of options available for the less fortunate. Known as the “It” city, Nashville, Tennessee has seen an increase in homelessness and the panhandling and crime that sometimes accompanies the dysfunction that ensues. Joining me today, to make sense of the problem is Dr. Ron Martinelli. Dr. Martinelli is a former police detective and a renowned forensic criminologist. Using Nashville for much of the discussion, Dr. Martinelli breaks the problem down and shares his views about what can be done to improve the life of the community.
