All bets are off. The troops are assembled and ready for war; their weapons are locked and loaded. The target is a former President of the United States. Donald J. Trump. His crime? Challenging the results of the 2020 Presidential election, as was his right. Benjamin Franklin once said, “It is the first responsibility of every citizen to question authority.” That is precisely what Trump did, and for that, he is being prosecuted.
The irony is that in this barefaced effort to blame him for ‘election interference’ and encompass it in a RICO indictment, they are themselves committing an outrageously obvious exercise of ‘election interference!’
The Democrats will do anything, it seems, and will stop at nothing to keep Donald Trump from running in the 2024 elections, including imprisoning him.
This has never happened before in American history. As bad as some of our presidents may have been, none of them have ever been formally threatened with jail time – for racketeering or anything else!
The state of Georgia, spearheaded by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, released a 41-count racketeering indictment against Trump and 18 others, including former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, attorneys John Eastman and Sidney Powell, and former senior Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark.
Political strategist Doug Herman called it “the gold standard of Democratic worthiness to take on Donald Trump in a battle and fight the enemy for good reasons.” He didn’t say what the “good reasons” were, but he really didn’t have to. There is really only one true and compelling reason behind the Democrats’ most recent assault against Trump. The Democrats have been terrified of the candidate, who already has consistently had more than 50% of the popular approval in the polls since he announced that he was running.
It was the latest of their endless efforts to prevent Trump from returning to the Oval Office, to even run for that office, by driving him out of the 2024 Presidential race for good. This is not a quest for justice. This is a blatant attempt at election interference at the highest level: an attempt to use the force of a law that was designed to deal with mob prosecutions to bring down a legitimate candidate in the middle of the election campaign and force him to drop out of the race by accusing him of crimes that are absurd on their face.
In this barefaced effort to blame him for “election interference” and encompass it in a RICO indictment, they are themselves committing the very crime of which they are accusing him and his colleagues. They want to prevent Trump from winning in November 2024 at all costs, and they want to do it by sending him to prison for serious crimes that he never committed.
Donald Trump is a tough guy. He has taken a lot from these despicable politicians, and he has withstood it all. But he is, after all, only human. And, although he never lets it show, it must be taking a toll on him – physically and psychologically. Their campaign is evil, designed to wear him down with outrageous legal accusations that cannot be ignored and designed, in fact, to destroy him. And now they have dragged in 18 of his colleagues to stand trial beside him.
DA Fani Willis messed it up from the beginning. She fabricated a web of exaggerations and lies, and then she released the indictment a day before the jury voted to issue it. It seems she was in a hurry to get her accomplishment into the news as quickly as possible. Will this make a difference in the coming trial? We’ll see.
Now, imagine the courtroom – it might have to be an auditorium or a stadium – with 18 defendants, each with a team of lawyers, the court officers, the judge, the huge press corps, and the thousands of people gathered outside the building to show their support for this man whom they love. It will be a circus worthy of any third-world banana republic.
The Democrats have lost all perspective about their rightful role in the American dream. They have distorted that dream in their quest for power and wealth and turned it into something cruel and self-serving. Instead of working to uphold the Constitution, they have twisted its guidance into something ugly and destructive, harassing Trump at every turn and in every way. And in doing so, they have presented America with a significant test of our resolve and internal strength, a test of our commitment to that great experiment that has led the free world for nearly 250 years.
Will the warnings of our founding fathers point us in the right direction and give us the will and the strength to overcome these corrupt politicians who have dragged America to this terrible place? Millions of Americans shared Trump’s concerns about the fairness of the 2020 election, and his courage in the face of it all has been an inspiration to those of us who still believe in the values of our founding fathers and the amazing documents they left behind – the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, with its Bill of Rights.
The third-world tactics of the Democrats must not be allowed to stand. Our forefathers’ pride and courage in the face of tyranny must give us the courage to stand against the tyranny we see today and the will to fight for those values that made this country great. It is time, once again, for God to bless America!
