This time of every year, especially the week of January 6, will always bring back memories of the Capitol riot that took place on January 6, 2021.
Even though the mainstream media, left-wing liberals, progressives, and others continue to describe the protest at the Capitol on that day as an insurrection, I stand by my description of this protest being high-jacked by a lot of bad actors and outside agitators, turning it into a riot.
Since the investigations began (and there were many), I have repeatedly stated that people and federal agencies are partly responsible for this riot.
I am not suggesting that in any way they planned this riot or even encouraged it. But in my view, they allowed conditions to develop that enabled troublemakers and agitators from all kinds of organizations to do what we saw them do at the Capitol that day.
Is it possible that Congress, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, Capitol Police, DC Metro Police, and all of our intelligence agencies had no idea, information, or intelligence that something was brewing leading up to January 6, 2021?
Are we to believe that with all the intelligence-gathering resources we have, these agencies had no idea about what potentially violent people and groups would join these protestors for the simple reason of causing the chaos that unfolded?
We did a bit more research in an effort to answer some of these important questions and found that there was a report published on June 27, 2023, released by U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D-MI), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
His report provided information detailing the results of his investigation, which found a number of intelligence failures by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis in the days leading up to the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Intelligence failures that contributed to the conditions that led to what we saw take place at the Capitol on January 6, 2021
