South Africa-based nuclear physicist Dr. Kelvin Kemm is Dr. Jay Lehr and Tom Harris’ guest this week. Dr. Kemm explains how nuclear power is safe, effective, and reliable and the only viable broad-scale replacement for most fossil fuel uses. In particular, Dr. Kemm boosts the new Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology that promises safe, clean, and affordable power to billions of people around the world, no matter the size and location of their communities. Indeed, SMRs will lead to a nuclear renaissance if our leaders have the wisdom to invest in them.
Dr. Kelvin Kemm is a Business Strategy Consultant who runs his own company, Stratek, based in Pretoria, South Africa. He is past Chairman of the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation. In 2003 Dr. Kemm was awarded the Lifetime Achiever’s Award in Science and Technology, by the National Science and Technology Forum. He has written over 1,000 popular interest articles in journals, magazines, and newspapers and has written two books. He has been a guest speaker in places as diverse as Hanoi, Namibia, and Stockholm and even at tribal events in the bush. He has also given Senate and Congressional briefings in Washington D.C.
Join Dr. Kemm, Jay, and Tom in this week’s episode of The Other Side of the Story to learn how anti-nuclear extremists have misled Americans into thinking that this technology is dangerous and environmentally damaging when in fact it is safe and environmentally beneficial.
