The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services declared a public health emergency for California on Friday, January 10, 2025, to address the health impacts of the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County. The declaration provides greater flexibility for Medicare and Medicaid providers and suppliers, enabling them to address emergency health needs, officials said.
What are the long-term effects of intense smoke exposure and inhalation? One can imagine wood, plastics, and a wide range of materials are generating toxic smoke among a large population unprepared for this disaster. Wilgus and Merchant summarized the literature on wildfire smoke exposures to pulmonary health. Below are the complications that can occur according to the evidence.
Keep in mind a forest fire is far cleaner than an entire neighborhood of homes going up in flames. It appears that we can expect the fire disaster to impact the short-term pulmonary health of those with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Longer term concerns over pulmonary function and lung cancer should prompt surveillance and a low threshold to pursue the diagnosis depending on the clinical scenario. Read full report.

Dr. Carol Armatis, MD – Just received a question from a number of patients about FACE MASKS … what studies debunked their usefulness in COVID? … And have any shown adverse results to humans who wore them? Pub Med was soooo tedious to research for these questions … CHAT GPT was useless.
Jade – Happy New Year to Malcolm, Dr McCullough, and the entire America Out Loud team. When these mRNA vaccines were tested on Mice, they all died. When you adjust for human years, we are talking 3-5 years post-vaccine, which some people say all recipients die. In terms of this mouse model, is it an actual probability that all jabbed will die like all the mice did in these tests?
Shanti – Recently, there was a study out of Yale on individuals who had not been infected with covid, only vaccinated, and they found spike protein in the blood, at least 450+ days after the last vaccine. In addition, to this, they also found that the CD4 T cells dropped. Is the drop in T-cells permanent or can they be reset?
Sheila – First..after having the virus in 2021 and being cleared by heart monitors, EKG, and blood work …I could have spike protein (no shots). What symptoms can it cause this far out? Second question…is Nattokinase safe for most everyone? Including kids? Are there serious side effects?
Meg – I believe I have been shedded on. I am unvaccinated. I am a geriatric case manager working with elders. The majority of my elders have received multiple Covid vaccines, most recently the Fall 2024 booster. I meet face-to-face with 20-25 elders per month. I woke up early Dec 2024 with moderate left ear hearing loss. Assessment showed inner ear nerve damage. I have not been ill at all. Could this be Covid vaccine shedding? Treatment? I am taking Ivermectin without success to date.
Leah – My daughter was not required to get the Meningitis vax for her first two years in college (In Idaho), but now, in Montana, she is. You have talked about various vaccines and have done research, what is your opinion of this vax and would she be safe taking it?
Caroline – Are all the ailments we see caused by spike from the vaccine? Also, what is the mechanism for the injuries being caused years later? Is the spike protein laying dormant in the body from both covid or the vaccine, is it still being produced?
