The recent admissions of the twenty-five-year NPR veteran editor, Uri Berliner, created a buzz. Berliner published a piece calling out NPR for their clear political bias. Berliner was then suspended by the liberal political mouthpiece, NPR, and he has since resigned his position.
So, nothing will change, and Americans should expect the same biased reporting from the outlet. But the bigger question should be: Why should American taxpayer money fund any part of NPR?
NPR will claim they receive very little funding from the federal government, and I would say very little is way too much.
Of course, the 1967 Public Broadcasting Act made it a law that the organization must direct much of its $500 million budget to public broadcasting. I have no problem with NPR being obviously biased and having an opinion; most news organizations do. The government funding of any sort must end, and the 1967 Public Broadcasting Act must be repealed.
Or, amend the 1967 Public Broadcasting Act to include funding for Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, Fox News, and America Out Loud News. If American taxpayer money is going to fund broadcasting and news outlets, it should allocate money across all political opinions and biases.
On this episode of ‘Truth Be Told with Booker Scott’ you will hear the new CEO of NPR in a recent Ted Talk explaining our truth isn’t truth, but opinions are the real truth.
Plus, Breaauna Sagdaal joins the conversation to address how the Joe Biden administration’s EO allows the American government to seize the assets of an indicted person and funnel that money to Ukraine.
Truth Be Told with Booker Scott can be heard on weekdays at 6 pm E.T. on America Out Loud Talk Radio.
