In this compelling episode of Nurses Out Loud, host Nurse Michele interviews Pastor Lisa Bush, a tireless advocate for women and justice within the African-American community she ministers to. Over decades, Pastor Bush has empowered women to embrace their worth as daughters of the High King of Heaven while addressing pervasive issues within Christian communities, such as domestic and pastoral abuse. However, her advocacy took on an urgent, personal dimension during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she faced the tragic consequences of vaccine mandates, medical malfeasance, and pharmaceutical overreach.
Exposing the Epidemic of Domestic Abuse in Christian Communities
Pastor Lisa Bush has dedicated her ministry to empowering women and shedding light on the hidden epidemic of domestic abuse within Christian households. With courage and conviction, she exposes how even high-ranking pastors can be perpetrators of abuse in their own homes, using their spiritual authority to manipulate and silence their wives. Her mission is to break this cycle, calling on Christian communities to confront this sin, support survivors, and restore dignity to women.
Personal Tragedy and Vaccine Mandates
Lisa’s advocacy against medical overreach became deeply personal in 2021. Although she was a conscientious objector to the COVID-19 vaccine due to her knowledge of natural immunity and historical injustices like the Tuskegee experiments, she was coerced into vaccination to attend her daughter’s U.S. Air Force graduation. Her request for a religious exemption was denied on the grounds that she had received childhood vaccines, a decision she considers a violation of her constitutional rights.
Since receiving the vaccine, Lisa has suffered debilitating neurological migraines, a condition that has drastically affected her quality of life. Despite this, she contracted COVID-19 four additional times post-vaccination, while her husband and son, unvaccinated since their initial infection, have remained healthy, illustrating the resilience of natural immunity.
Heartbreak and Loss in Her Community
Pastor Lisa recounts how the vaccine mandates and public health policies led to devastating losses in her family and community:
- Her Father: Encouraged to receive multiple COVID-19 vaccine doses, her elderly father has experienced several strokes, which she believes are vaccine-related adverse events.
- Her Best Friend: A breast cancer survivor who was persuaded by her oncologist to receive the vaccine despite the lack of data supporting its safety for cancer patients. Tragically, her friend developed stage-four “turbo cancer” and passed away within a year following C19 vaccination.
- Her Sister: In 2020, Lisa’s sister was hospitalized with COVID-19 and discharged on a cocktail of medications. Days later, she died of suspected internal bleeding at just 50 years old. The hospital’s explanation that her death was due to a “new variant” of COVID-19 reflects, in Lisa’s and Nurse Michele’s view, an alarming level of ignorance, misinformation, and malfeasance within the medical system.
These personal tragedies fuel Lisa’s determination to educate others about the dangers of blindly trusting pharmaceutical recommendations and government mandates.
Empowering Communities to Make Informed Health Choices
Pastor Bush and Nurse Michele delve into actionable strategies to reduce dependence on pharmaceuticals and prioritize preventive health. They discuss the benefits of natural remedies and supplements, such as:
- NAC (N-Acetylcysteine): A powerful antioxidant that supports respiratory health and reduces oxidative stress. Studies suggest it may mitigate COVID-19 symptoms and prevent severe complications.
- Black Tea: Rich in flavonoids, black tea has antiviral properties that may help inhibit the replication of viruses, including SARS-CoV-2.
- Iodine Nasal and Oral Sanitization: Simple dilute povidone-iodine solutions can reduce viral replication in the nose and throat, where respiratory infections often begin.
They also highlight the work of The Wellness Company (TWC), which helps elderly patients transition from pharmaceutical dependency to holistic health approaches. TWC’s physicians guide families toward nutritional supplements, empowering them to take control of their health naturally. More info about TWC can be found in the America Out Loud store.
A Voice for Justice and Empowerment
Through her advocacy, Lisa aims to ensure that African Americans and other vulnerable communities never fall victim to government overreach again. Her story is a call to action for justice, transparency, and accountability in public health.
Pastor Lisa’s commitment to empowerment extends beyond her ministry. She is the author of three books:
- “Free” – A journey to spiritual and personal freedom.
- “Just Like Me” – A heartfelt exploration of shared struggles and triumphs.
- “Our Alopecia” – A powerful story of identity and resilience.
These books can be found on her website, FreedomAintFree.org, where she also shares resources for faith, health, and empowerment.
Breaking the Cycle of Propaganda
Pastor Lisa and Nurse Michele’s discussion underscores a shared mission: to break the cycle of propaganda that prioritizes profit over people’s lives. They stress the importance of sharing stories like Lisa’s to awaken others to the realities of public health failures and inspire a movement for justice.

Pastor Lisa Bush Bio
She is an impactful motivational speaker, Author, Playwright, Producer, and Pastor. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Lisa’s family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, when she was five years old. Throughout her childhood, the Urban Street drama of crime, gang life, and drugs played out before her eyes, consuming her family and Community. Her eventual entanglement in that tumultuous and destructive existence led to years of drug trafficking, gang warfare, and ultimately, her imprisonment at Shakopee Women’s Correctional Facility, where she was sentenced to 107 months. However, her incarceration proved to be her rebirth. She stripped away the layers of hurt and self-hatred; molestation; abuse; being kidnapped and raped, and committed herself to God. While incarcerated, Pastor Lisa was spiritually set free. She committed herself to God’s word and opened herself up to His Spirit. She later accepted the call of an Evangelist and was shortly thereafter licensed as a Minister. After several years of Christian Education, she was ordained a Pastor. In addition, because of the many challenges she faced, she has a passion for helping women get and remain free. Today, Pastor Lisa uses her gut-wrenching experiences to inspire and heal the lives of others – by speaking to diverse audiences at development conferences, seminars, Religious Organizations, Retreats, and Schools. Dispensing her brand of realism and compassion to help heal and encourage individuals, many who have not yet acknowledged or owned their own wounds and challenges. In the words of Pastor Lisa Bush, “What you see is what you get.” “I am what His word says I am!” That’s it, and that’s all!
