Our world is divided by politics, health, and news headlines with sensationalism claims. We are labeled by our beliefs, emotions, and our actions. There are performative actors on podcasts, youtube, and social media, all playing a part in fulfilling the duties they believe are necessary to influence others. Can we ever mix politics with our deeply held beliefs?
I’m joined today by my good friend, John Gribowich. He is a priest who has taken a different approach to his ministry. As I expected when inviting him on, John provides a deeper contemplative reflection on how we are all wounded. In our wounds, he advocates that compassion is joining people to help heal each other for the betterment of humanity. I ask John if he feels we are missing empathy in our conversations with others.
Whether it is giving a complex take on political issues, becoming impassioned on an issue we feel immoral, or arguing over the hot topics of the day, we often forget that we all carry our own broken spirits. Compassion could go a long way to having a better world for each side of issues.
Have you been targeted for your beliefs due to the pandemic? Do you feel strongly about your Presidential options? Have you fought with someone over the world’s issues? Today’s show is a reflection for all of us.
