The COVID vaccine mandate has been rescinded, yet top Department of Defense officials in the Biden Administration are continuing their systemic destruction of our military by retaliating against the unvaccinated and those who applied for religious exemptions to the COVID shots and forcing them out of the military, often with general discharges that threaten future civilian employment.

“It took an act of Congress to direct the end of the Covid vaccine mandate, yet the DoD continues with unabated retaliatory and punishing actions against our most experienced military service members across all branches of our Armed Forces,” said Elizabeth Lee Vliet, MD, President and CEO of Truth for Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is defending core Constitutional and human rights and individual medical freedom.

Retaliation and punishment of service members are ongoing in unimaginable ways, despite the rescission of the vaccine mandate. Examples include security clearances summarily canceled: the weaponization of Behavioral Health, Family Advocacy Services, and Child Protective Services against service members and their families in clear violations of federal whistleblower protection statutes; members kicked to Inactive Ready Reserve status with no pay, no benefits and no credit for time; harassment and career-ending reprimands. Among vaccinated service members, vaccine complications and injuries leading to medical discharges due to inability to function have skyrocketed, adding ongoing damage to military readiness.

More alarming for national security, thousands of service members were abruptly severed from the military altogether in spite of exemplary careers in critical service roles, such as pilots, medical professionals, CBRN officers, and other highly skilled personnel. Thousands more have been so demoralized, they did not re-enlist or applied for early retirement. Recruiting is far below critically needed replacement levels.

America’s sons and daughters, who serve under the American Flag we celebrate today and all that it stands for, have volunteered to serve our Nation, defend freedom and our Constitutional Republic. They are continuing to pay a high price as their own Constitutional rights are trampled upon by top Command officers who themselves took an Oath to defend the Constitution. If our military service members are being abused to this degree, and forced out of the military for exercising their Constitutional rights for a religious or medical exemption to an experimental vaccine, who will stand in the gap and defend all of our rights?

Our military members defend us. They deserve our support to defend them now against the continued unjust punishment by their own Command. We must all stand against tyranny and protect the freedoms endowed by our Creator and enshrined in America’s founding documents.
